Profile | Web Designer Based in Würzburg, Germany
Michelle Amthor
I'm Michelle Amthor, a freelance web designer and singer—two worlds that fit together perfectly for me because they both thrive on creativity, rhythm, and a sense of the right moment. I live and work in Würzburg and am the mother of two adult children.
I like things with soul, music, design, authentic people, clear words, good espresso, and that moment when a spark of an idea suddenly turns into something visible and tangible.
In my work, I’m attentive, direct, and quite detail-oriented. I listen closely, sort through things, ask questions, and look for the point where something truly sounds like you. Not overpolished, not generic, but genuine, recognizable and grounded in real collaboration.
Passion and Career
Expression. Vision. Realization.
My love for arts has been with me my whole life—whether through singing or design. For many years, I performed on stage as a professional singer. Later, a new space opened up that allowed me to combine my creative freedom with structure, strategy, and visual clarity: creating individual web concepts.

In 1997, I turned my passion into a career and began my freelance career as a singer in the genres of soul, funk, R&B, and jazz. That period had a profound influence on my sense of impact, presence, and expression—elements that continue to play an important role in my creative work today.
For nine years, I also worked as an executive assistant. During that time, I realized that my skills extended far beyond creative work: strategy, structure, organization, SEO, content management, e-commerce, and project management became integral parts of my professional profile.
In 2015, I also began focusing on web and graphic design. In 2021, I finally decided to become fully self-employed—a decision that suits my free spirit and allows me to do exactly what fulfills me: bringing ideas to life and developing digital concepts with substance.
Structure and Creativity
Concept. Implementation. Impact.
Good design doesn't happen by chance—it's the result of a clear process. I work in a structured yet flexible way, keeping an open mind for creative solutions. Functionality, aesthetics, and user-friendliness are always at the center of my work.

Every project begins with a well-thought-out strategy: What are the goals? Who is the target audience? How does the design fit into the bigger picture? I listen carefully, analyze, and develop individual concepts that are not only visually compelling but also functional and built to last.
I am self-taught—I tackle new challenges with curiosity, analytical thinking, and creative intuition. This approach shapes my work: I find solutions, even when they aren’t obvious, and develop customized concepts with depth.
I guide my clients from the initial idea through to implementation—with clear communication, transparent collaboration, and an eye for detail. Even after a project is completed, I’m still there to help with further development or optimization.
Values and Philosophy
Clarity. Honesty. Reliability.
I am passionate about my work. Design should not only be aesthetically pleasing, but also functional, clear, and sustainable. It should convey my clients’ personalities and visions and help them achieve their goals.

For me, honesty, transparency, and responsibility play a central role in this. I work with a clear commitment to quality, make well-considered decisions, and value open communication. I say what makes sense—and what doesn't.
To me, every project is a collaboration — built on openness, clarity and mutual respect. I don’t just want to create something “beautiful”; I want to develop a solution that stands the test of time—for my clients, for their brands, and for the people they want to reach.
Foresight and Experience
Learn. Grow. Create.
Experience shapes perspective, judgment and the ability to make the right decisions. My own journey has taught me to remain open to new ideas, to consider different points of view, and to find creative solutions—both professionally and personally.

Through my diverse professional career, I have learned to view things from different perspectives and to approach projects holistically. Not just from a creative perspective, but also from a strategic and structural one. This broad understanding helps me develop solutions that are well-thought-out in terms of both visuals and content.
Life itself has also taught me valuable lessons: flexibility, empathy, clarity, and the ability to find smart solutions when things don’t go according to plan. As someone with a wide range of professional and personal experience, I bring this knowledge to my work.
To me, good design is more than decoration. It reveals what’s already there at its core—in people, in what’s being offered, and in the attitude behind it—and finds the right form for it: sometimes calm and down-to-earth, sometimes bolder and freer, but above all clear, distinctive, and authentic.
My Clients
Who I Work For
I work with people and businesses who want more than just a pretty website—for self-employed professionals, medical practices, service providers, creatives, musicians, and brands looking to make their online presence clearer, more distinctive, and more visible.
Some come with an initial idea; others with an existing website that no longer works for them. Still others need someone to organize their content, refine their copy, streamline the design, and develop a presence that looks like them — not like a template.
What they have in common: They aren't looking for an anonymous, off-the-shelf solution, but rather a direct, well-thought-out process—with someone who listens, understands, organizes, designs, and keeps an eye on the big picture.
