Content Management and Maintenance
Maintenance, Editing, Updates & Security
Even after its launch, a website requires ongoing maintenance and support. Content changes, new pages or sections are added, and the technical infrastructure must be regularly updated and monitored. As part of content management, I handle the content maintenance and further development of the website. For websites that I have developed and implemented myself, I also handle all technical maintenance.
Care & Maintenance | What's Involved
What Your Website Needs for the Long Term
Updates & System Maintenance
Performance & Functionality Testing
Content Management
Text and Image Updates
I add to or revise text, replace images, and format new content so that it fits with the existing website and its design.
Content Revisions
If offerings, areas of focus, or information change, I will revise and restructure existing content accordingly. In doing so, I will also keep the page layout and user navigation in mind.
Pages & Sections
New content cannot always be incorporated into the existing structure. I add pages and sections or adapt existing structures when content and requirements change.
Updates & System Maintenance
WordPress, Elementor, and the plugins used are constantly being developed. Regular updates are therefore part of a website’s technical maintenance—but not based on the principle of „update everything and hope it works.“ I review upcoming updates and make sure the components used continue to work together seamlessly.
WordPress & Plugin Updates
I update WordPress, Elementor, and the plugins used on the website regularly and carefully. For major or potentially critical updates, I check in advance to see if any known compatibility issues are expected.
System Compatibility
The technical environment of a website is also constantly changing, for example due to new versions of PHP or changes in the requirements of WordPress and plugins. As part of my maintenance work, I keep an eye on these developments and adjust the configuration whenever necessary to ensure the website continues to operate smoothly.
Functional Test
After relevant updates, I check key areas of the website for obvious errors and, in particular, test important features that may be affected by the updates. If a problem arises, I investigate the cause and determine what adjustments are necessary.
Security & Backups
No website is 100% secure. However, with regular backups and a properly secured technical infrastructure, you can ensure that not everything is immediately at risk if problems arise. As part of my maintenance services, I handle the necessary backups and basic security measures to protect the website.
Regular Backups
I handle regular backups of the website so that, in the event of technical issues or failed updates, we can revert to a previous version. This provides a reliable fallback option in case something goes wrong during changes or updates.
Basic Coverage
Technical maintenance also involves minimizing unnecessary points of vulnerability as much as possible. This includes keeping the system up to date and configuring appropriate security settings, as well as monitoring for anomalies or technical vulnerabilities that become apparent during normal operation.
Recovery
If a restore is necessary following a technical issue or an erroneous change, existing backups can be used. The specific data state that can be restored depends on the backup in question and when it was created.
Performance & Functionality Testing
Even a technically well-designed website can change over time. Updates, new content, or enhancements can affect loading times, appearance, and individual features. As part of my maintenance work, I monitor the website’s technical quality and address any issues as they arise.
Load Times & Performance
I make sure that images, files, and technical components don't slow down the website unnecessarily, and if loading times seem unusually long, I check to see where optimizations can be made.
Technical Inspection
Key features and sections of the website are checked as part of routine maintenance. During this process, I look for technical anomalies and any noticeable issues with the website's appearance or functionality.
Troubleshooting
If technical errors or display issues occur, I will investigate the cause and resolve them, provided they relate to the website I manage and its technical components.
A good website should be able to evolve. What matters most is that it remains technically sound, up-to-date in terms of content, and open to future additions.

What services are included in the care and maintenance division?
This area encompasses both the technical maintenance and the content management of a website. Technical maintenance includes, among other things, regular updates, backups, and functional checks. Content management involves the editorial maintenance, updating, and expansion of content, as well as modifications to existing sections.
The services included in ongoing support depend on the specific website and the agreed-upon scope of support.
Which websites do you handle for maintenance and support?
I provide comprehensive technical maintenance exclusively for WordPress websites that I have developed and implemented myself. Since I am familiar with the structure, the plugins used, and the technical configuration of these websites, I am also able to take responsibility for their ongoing technical support.
Editorial maintenance and content updates are also possible for existing WordPress websites created by other service providers, provided their technical structure allows for it. I will determine in advance, based on the existing website, whether I can take on ongoing editorial support.
Can I also book content management separately?
Yes. The ongoing content management of a website can be handled separately from technical maintenance. This includes, for example, text and image updates, adding new content, and making adjustments and enhancements to existing pages. The scope and frequency depend on your specific needs.
What happens if there are technical problems with the website?
As part of technical maintenance, I regularly check the website's key functions. If technical problems or incompatibilities arise, I investigate the cause and resolve them to the extent possible within the scope of the website and the systems in use.
Regular backups also ensure that, if necessary, you can restore the website to a previous, saved version.
How are care and maintenance billed?
For technical maintenance, I offer fixed-price support packages. The scope and price depend on the specific website and the amount of support required.
I generally bill for content management, editorial maintenance, and content updates on an hourly basis based on the actual time spent.

Your website still needs attention after launch—both technically and in terms of content. I’ll handle ongoing support to the extent that best suits your website and your actual needs. Editorial updates are also available for existing websites; I offer full technical maintenance for websites that I’ve developed and implemented myself.
The Complete Package
Web Design
Sometimes it’s not enough to simply maintain an existing website. If the structure, design, or technical foundation no longer align with the company’s needs, I develop a new website—from the concept and content to the design and implementation using WordPress and Elementor.
Linguistic Style
Copywriting & Editing
Keeping a website up to date can also mean thoroughly revising its content. I develop new website copy, reorganize existing material, and refine the language and tone when a simple update turns into a more substantial content overhaul.
Visual Communication
Graphic & Print Design
New content sometimes requires new visual material. I create graphics, illustrations, and digital and print media that complement the existing brand identity and visually convey information. In doing so, the design is based on what already exists.
